Off end of Samuel St.
Park in Samuel St, walk to sourthern end, turn East to walk up steps and pathway at end of lane.
If going to the Eastern river bank, either step over the rocks at the top of the low weir, or park in Macumba Ave on Eastern side of river, and walk up steps at end of Avenue.
February 17th, 24th, March 3rd
Old Flour Mill, Port Adelaide
Off corner Nile St and Mundy St.
Close parking is available.

It can be surprisingly cool beside the deep water, so a spare jacket may be useful.

Thorndon Park Reserve, Hamilton Tce, Paradise
Off Gorge Rd.
Very large car park for the reserve.
Two sets of toilets within the grounds.
Information from the entrance sign:
Carsafe: Please remember to lock all doors, close all windows, and remove valuables from sight.
Not permitted: Dogs, bicycling, skateboarding.

Mt. Lofty Botanic Gardens, upper entrance
Turnoff to right from Mt. Lofty Summit Rd. about 30 metres after bus stop 25. Veer right at next junction.
Parking fees: $1 per hour or $4 per day – credit cards accepted.
Open 365 days a year. Toilets at edge of car park. Gates open at 8:30 am
April 21st, 28th, May 5th
Botanic Gardens
Meet for lunch in Botanic Park near North Gate.
Parking fees on Plane Tree Drive: $3.80 per hour or $10 per day – credit cards accepted. Free parking on Bundeys Rd (15 minute walk).
There are several toilets in the gardens. Gates open at 7:15 am.
May 12th, 19th, 26th
Brownhill Creek, Mitcham, near Cafe 1954 in Caravan Park.

Parking: Car park beside road at Cafe 1954 with room for about six cars. Large off road car park space on Eastern side of road 300 metres north of cafe (see (2) on map), and much further south ((4) on map).

The track on the western side of the creek seems to be close to the creek, but can only be reached by the foot bridge at (1) and the southern car park (4).
June 2nd, 9th, 16th
Near/under Port River Expressway (Birkenhead Hotel side)
Nearest toilets are at the Birkenhead Hotel.
There is car parking beside the dirt road to the bridge, and in front of the wire fence at the end of the road. It’s a short 50 metre walk to the area under the bridge, which provides shelter from rain.
Bring warm clothing, as the breeze from the water can be quite cold.

Parking in Bonython Park (4 hours) or weir parking (2 hours).

Warriparinga Wetlands, Warriparinga Way
Sturt Rd. near Marion Rd. corner. Parking beside the grapevines near the cultural centre. Toilet at rear of the cultural centre.
The area near the cultural centre is pleasant (see top 7 photos at right). But the most interesting scenery is easy to miss; it’s in the wetlands, over the creek (see map and last 9 photos at right).
August 25th, September 1st, 8th
Palmer Gardens, Palmer Place, North Adelaide.
Palmer Place, Kermode St, and much of Ward St, have only 2 hour parking. Jeffcott St has 3 hour parking but it is not accessible due to roadworks. Part of Ward St is 3 hour. As the site is open, painting gear is visible to others when moving the car after 2 hours. Parking spaces were mainly in use, but there were sufficient spare spaces available nearby.
Nearest toilets would be at the Queen’s Head hotel in Kermode St.
September 15th, 22nd, 29th

Wide space beside road for parking.
October 6th, 13th, 20th
Hallett Cove Conservation Park
Parking: at either – near foreshore cafe; or corner Dutchman Dr. and Cherub St. (with access to upper scrubland and lookout views).
Lunch near foreshore cafe.
The cafe is 600 metres downhill from the upper parking site.
Public toilets are adjacent to the cafe on southern side.
October 27th, November 3rd, 10th

Parking: Car park in the entrance to River Park, or street parking

On walking into the park, turn right. The path to the left is dangerous, it leads to an unfenced high vertical edge.
If your Google maps directs you to the rear track approach to the River Park car park, don’t follow it. You need to enter the car park from River St.
November 17th, 24th, December 1st
Grange Jetty.
Public toilets 50 metres north of jetty cafe.
Car park across the road from the jetty is likely to be full, but the roadside parking along the esplanade should have free spaces.
